Recovered from a spam content disaster caused by a discount SEO vendor. Rewrote site content, optimized metadata, internal linking, and structure.  Wrote 40+ content pieces (blogs, page rewrites, pillar pages). Data Told The “Dropoff” Story 

Our campaigns perforemd exceedingly well but conversion were hard to get. We could see the problems in the data.

  • 97.7% cart abandonment on the FareHarbor booking platform due to confusion and price escalation tactics

  • Users who got all their questions answered online instead of calling killed the phones 

  • Impulse Buyers – converted quickly but price was a major barrier

  • Long Decision Cycles – didn’t get the lead-nurturing and direct follow up required

So why didn’t we fix it? It’s pretty clear here that we tried! 
The misalignments were not in our power to correct.

What Went Wrong?

We tried to win through effort alone. We failed to enforce boundaries or re-scope and we just kept doing more and more to help this client get out of their tail-spin.  We accepted the “no” answer when the client refused to accept or address fundamental problems.

Our Key Failures

Let’s be honest about where we fell short:

  1. We didn’t say “no” enough.
    We gave away too much work without resetting expectations. We kept trying to prove we are able to overcome anything. 
  2. We tried to fix everything except the product.
    We danced around the hard truth: the chapel’s decor didn’t match the market’s fantasy of a Vegas wedding. No Elvis. No neon. No outrageous fun. It was classy and tasteful—but that’s not what many Vegas wedding buyers want.
  3. We underestimated the impact of price.
    The experience was beautiful—but also 2-3x more expensive than many competitors. Customers want to splurge on the hotel and party, not the chapel. They hated added costs that came during booking such as paying to take/post pictures on their personal social media. 
  4. We accepted a broken funnel.
    The FareHarbor booking tool—rigid, impersonal, and price-focused—killed conversions. It had a 97.7% abandonment rate! Call handling was equally dismal. 

We couldn’t convince the client to change. 

We fought hard to bring leads. We built solutions to nurture them. But poor lead handling, no sales accountability, and resistance to recommendations stopped progress cold.
